Academic & Professional Experience

    Triticeae Research Institute, Sichuan Agricultural University, Chengdu Sichuan

    I am a PI in Triticeae Research Institute, SICAU. The main works in our group are 1) Wheat breeding, 2) Seed dormancy of wheat, and 3) Wheat quality enhancement

    CSC’s MOE-AAFC PhD Research Program (Canada, Jan 2007- Feb 2008).

    A project (supported by Chinese and Canada government) about characterizing seed genes with specific expression level in Fusarium infected wheat by microarray and Q-PCR was carried out.

    Postdoc in Mingcheng’s lab at UC DAVIS (USA, Apr 2011-Mar 2013)

    I worked with Drs. Mingcheng Luo and Jan Dvorak during 2011-2013 as a postdoc fellow. We did research about the adaptive evolution of diploid wheat Ae.tauschii. This project was supported by NSF and USDA. A paper named “Aegilops tauschii single nucleotide polymorphisms shed light on the origins of wheat D-genome genetic diversity and pinpoint the geographic origin of hexaploid wheat” was published when the work was finished.


Current Research & Manager Assistant

    Pre-harvest sprouting (PHS) is considered a worldwide disaster that reduces the production of wheat and damages its quality. Both linkage analysis and association analysis will be carried out by NGS and chip array. Natural population and RILs are also been used for QTLs mining, marker developing and functional gene cloning. Our group also focus on the mechanisms that control seed developing and germinating stages.

近期研究方向(研究生招收方向)

1)种子休眠与穗发芽及其对小麦品质的影响

    通过全基因组关联分析与连锁分析相结合,明确控制小麦穗发芽与延缓品质劣化的关键目标区段;对种子成熟到萌发过程中的调控基因进行分析,揭示穗发芽抗性与特定基因遗传变异的相关关系;分析关键基因表达水平差异对穗发芽抗性程度的影响,寻找调控其表达的热点区域,解析抗穗发芽形成的分子机制。
2)群体遗传及作物驯化

    通过对结构基因组与功能基因组的分析,揭示作物驯化过程的基因遗传变异;比较不同生态环境的植物功能基因遗传差异,解析自然选择引起适应进化的分子生物学机制,同时鉴定关键基因的遗传特性。

3)种子发育与萌发的生物学调控

    基于我们自己开发的数据库:wheatTFDB http://xms.sicau.edu.cn/wheatTFDB、转录组数据库、非编码RNA数据库,对小麦组织特异因子进行分析,发掘决定种子发育与萌发的关键因子,并对其功能进行验证。
